Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients

1kg Icing Sugar

200g Softened Unsalted Butter

20g Vanilla Extract

110g Milk

Method

Place Icing Sugar and Butter into TM Bowl chop for 20 seconds on speed 7, Move mixture around with Spatula.

Add Vanilla Extract and milk into TM Bowl mix for 10 seconds on speed 7.

Scrap down sides of bowl

Insert Butterfly and aerate mixture for 4 minutes on speed 3 with MC off to allow air into bowl.

Add your food coloring and mix for 10 seconds on speed 3.

Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

    I have just made this for my sons birthday cake and I halved the recipe as I did not want a lot left over as I often find with icing recipes. I have popped it in the fridge for the 15 min proving time but it is very runny so I have my fingers crossed…will repost when final result in…better work as I am now out of butter!!!

    Too much milk for a frosting you would want to pipe… but yummy :o )

    Thanks for this recipe. I just made it for my kids to decorate cup cakes in the school holidays. It worked a treat!

    Just made half the recipe. Did a coffee flavour, mixing 4 tsp espresso powder with 1 tsp warm water and added this instead of the milk.
    Used it as a filling for macarons. Perfect!
